Court fines MBSA senior officer RM7,000

KUALA LUMPUR: A Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) senior officer was fined RM7,000 in lieu of three months' imprisonment by the Shah Alam Sessions Court for an offence related to public cleaning service tenders.

Judge Datuk Anita Harun meted out the sentence after Azlan Dolah, 47, changed his plea to guilty for four alternative charges.

Azlan was charged for receiving a total of RM36,000 in cash through four transactions from an individual without any returns, which is believed to be in relation to his official duties as an administrative officer at the MBSA Kota Kemuning branch.

The money is alleged to be related to a public cleaning service tender in Section 32, Shah Alam.

His charges were framed under Section 165 of the Penal Code which provides a jail term of up to two years or a fine or both, upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Irna Julieza Maaras prosecuted, case while Azizul Shariman Md Yusof appeared for the accused.
