REMBAU: A teenage girl who was kicked and beaten by her drunken father, resulting in her getting 12 stitches for her head wounds, is also believed to be a rape victim.
The Wednesday midnight incident is said to have happened after the 17-year-old disclosed the rape to her father's girlfriend, who lived in the same house.
District police chief, Deputy Superintendent Hazri Mohamad, confirmed the matter based on what had been gathered from interviews and a doctor's examination confirming that the victim had been raped.
"The victim was referred to the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital in Kuala Pilah. In an interview with the doctor who treated her, the girl said her father had raped her.
"A medical officer from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Division of the Negri Sembilan Health Department examined the victim and found traces of an old tear on her hymen," he said.
Commenting on the incident last November, he said it happened at about 2pm when only the victim and the suspect were at home in Kampung Kendong Baru, Kota.
"The suspect entered the victim's room and raped her, even threatening her not to tell anyone," he said.
The case is investigated under Section 376(B) of the Penal Code for incest.
It was reported police had arrested the victim's 47-year-old father, who has a criminal record with seven offences.
