KUALA LUMPUR: A man and a woman believed to involved in a cyberbullying case which led to the alleged suicide of a social media influencer, are expected to be charged at the magistrate's and Sessions court, here today.
The man was escorted by the police into the building at about 9.56am while the woman, who is out on police bail, arrived earlier.
Yesterday, Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said the pair will be charged today over the cyberbullying case.
Police had opened investigations into the case under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act for making statements with the intent to cause fear or alarm to the public and induce any person to commit an offence against the state or public tranquillity, as well as misuse of network facilities, respectively.
The woman was arrested at around 1.45am at Jalan Cempaka 2, Bukit Beruntung Golf Resort, Rawang, last Monday.
Two days later, police arrested a lorry driver to help with further investigations.
The duo were believed to have targetted influencer A. Rajeswary, who as believed to have committed suicide later because of their attacks.
