KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman will refer three investigation papers to the Attorney-General's Chambers (A-GC) involving their probe into GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the investigation papers involved probes under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children and Section 354 of the Penal Code for physical sexual assault on children and use of criminal force on a person with intent to outrage his or her modesty.
"The three IPs involved alleged offences that were uncovered following investigations during the first phase of Op Global in Negri Sembilan.
"We will send over the IPs to the A-GC today morning for their views and further instructions," he told reporters today.
He said to date, they have opened 33 investigation papers linked to phases one and two of Op Global.
"Under phase one, six IPs were opened in Selangor and four in Negri Sembilan.
"Under phase two, 23 were opened, comprising 16 in Selangor, two in Negri Sembilan, one in Perlis and four in Kuala Lumpur." Razarudin also said they have taken statements from 740 people during the course of their investigations.
"We have recorded statements from 30 complainants, 216 witnesses, 392 victims and 102 suspects," he said, adding that their cases were being investigated under the Child Act, Anti Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants Act, Sexual Offences against Children Act, and the Penal Code.
It was reported that GISB has been on the police "watch list" since 2011, and the coordinated raids on 20 welfare homes were the culmination of a six-month probe to gather intelligence, build a case and formulate an action plan.
Police had been monitoring the company long before the recent allegations of child exploitation and abuse went viral on social media.
Razarudin had said he met with representatives from the Research Centre for Deviant Teachings (Pukas) six months ago.
Wednesday's raids saw 402 children, aged 1 to 17, being rescued from alleged exploitation and abuse.
Razarudin said the victims had endured various forms of exploitation and abuse, including being sodomised.
He also said initial investigations revealed that caretakers had also taught the children to sodomise other children.
GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd has since denied the allegations and any links to the case.
