Books on GISBH's teachings buried after CEO arrested

KOTA BARU: The authorities have uncovered numerous books related to the teachings and doctrines of GISB Holdings (GISBH) that were buried near a river in Kampung Panji here.

The books are believed to have been buried by a group member living near the village following the arrest of its chief executive officer yesterday.

Some books were also burned at the site, which smelled of smoke when the authorities arrived.

The group's actions were uncovered as part of the police's ongoing Op Global.

The police's operation here today began at 7am. They were assisted by the Welfare Department and Kelantan Islamic Religious Affairs Department.

It is understood that 30 people, including 20 children, live in three homes near the village. Many of them are believed to be related to the GISBH CEO.

Yesterday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the CEO of GISBH and his wife were among 19 people arrested in a raid on a complex in Bukit Bintang.

GISB is now the focus of a police investigation after raids were conducted on 20 welfare homes allegedly linked to the group last week. The raids saw 402 people, some as young as 1-year-old, rescued.

Police said the victims had endured various forms of exploitation and abuse, including being sodomised.

GISB has since denied the allegations of child exploitation and sexual abuse.

Three people linked to GISBH have been charged with sexual assault against children. They have pleaded not guilty.
