SEPANG: A 53-year-old man was arrested at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2 for operating an illegal car ride service as a tout.
The Selangor Road Transport Department (RTD) on its Facebook page said the suspect was detained by KLIA enforcement officers on Monday afternoon.
Investigations revealed he had offered transport services to three Chinese tourists, using his son's Mercedes-Benz, charging RM100 for a trip from KLIA Terminal 2 to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), payable upon arrival.
The RTD warned that offenders could be charged under Section 205(1) of the Land Public Transport Act 2010, with those aiding such activities facing charges under Section 243(1).
They reminded the public to use authorised transport services and report traffic complaints via aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my or the e-aduan@JPJ app.
