Father of baby in freezer controversy asks netizens to retract defamatory statements [WATCH]

PETALING JAYA: The father of a baby boy named Adham, whose body was allegedly stored in a freezer for two weeks in a private hospital, gave netizens who made defamatory statements and accusations on social media three hours to withdraw their claims or face legal action.

Datuk Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar, the lawyer representing Safwan Roshdy, said they identified several social media account owners who spread false claims about his client, including accusations of him not being married.

He mentioned that they had verified Safwan's marriage certificate through the Perlis Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jaips), which confirmed the authenticity of the certificate.

"We are giving them three hours (until midnight) to delete the posts or comments (containing false accusations).

"Do not make unfounded assumptions. We have identified (the netizens), whether they made live TikTok broadcasts or otherwise," he said when met at his home in Kota Damansara yesterday.

However, he added that the case is being investigated by the police and the Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, Safwan, 22, expressed his disappointment over the numerous accusations as well as the insults and verbal attacks directed at him.

The factory worker said he would not hesitate to take legal action and had entrusted his lawyer to proceed with further steps.
