KUALA LUMPUR: National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) borrowers from M40 households will now be eligible to receive a laptop each, expanded from the B40 group previously.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in announcing this, said this was among steps taken by the government to ease the burden of undergraduates.
"Due to the rising costs of living, the Jualan Malaysia sale will be held in universities from October when they return from semester break.
"(Education) loans for the M40 M1 (tier 1) will be increased from 75 per cent to 100 per cent," he said in his speech at Semarak Patriotik IPT 2022 held at Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) today.
