KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced the appointment of five people to a special advisory body to assist him as finance minister.
He said the five were made up of professionals and economic experts and would be led by Petronas adviser Tan Sri Hassan Marican.
Apart from Hassan, the others are: FVSB executive chairman Datuk Ahmad Fuad Md Ali; Sunway University economics professor Dr Yeah Kim Leng; Universiti Malaya economics professor Datuk Dr Rajah Rasiah; and, Sarawak Energy Bhd chairman Datuk Abdul Hamed Sepawi.
In a statement issued today, Anwar reiterated that the five would not receive any monetary payment from the government for their role in the body.
