KUALA LUMPUR: Police have announced the transfers and promotions of four senior officers, which will take effect on August 7.
Leading the list is Internal Security and Public Order (ISPO) Deputy Commander of the Southeast Brigade, General Operations Force, Kuantan, Pahang, Assistant Commissioner Norizan Murad.
Federal police corporate communications head Datin Asmawati Ahmad, in a statement today, said Norizan would assume the role of Federal police assistant director chief of its secretariat branch in ISPO.
He replaces Assistant Commissioner Mohd Abduh Ismail. Mohd Abduh will take over Norizan’s position as ISPO Deputy Commander of the Southeast Brigade, General Operations Force, Kuantan, Pahang.
The Narcotics Department’s Assistant Director (Intelligence) of Zone 1, Assistant Commissioner S. Batumalai, will be the new Head of the Research Centre and Studies Curriculum Resources at the Police College in Cheras.
His position will be filled by Superintendent Ravindar Singh, with the rank of Assistant Commissioner.
Ravindar was the head of unit (Company Crimes) at the Commercial Crime Department.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar in May had said that a major reshuffle among the force's top brass was expected to take effect after Hari Raya Aidilfitri as part of the force's restructuring exercise.
On Tuesday, the police had announced the reshuffling, transfers and promotions of 46 senior officers nationwide.
