Washington, D.C.: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today expressed his condolences over the passing of Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.
Najib, who held a press conference at the Trump International Hotel shortly after arriving for a three-day visit here, said he received news of Sultan Abdul Halim's passing on the way to Washington.
He said Sultan Halim was exemplary in discharging his royal duties as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Sultan of Kedah.
Najib said Sultan Abdul Halim's deeds in shaping Malaysia into a dynamic, progressive and modern nation would forever be recorded in the annals of history.
Flags will be flown half-mast from tomorrow (Tuesday) as a mark of respect for Sultan Abdul Halim's passing.
