Najib: Malaysia - US meeting will benefit both countries

WASHINGTON D.C: Malaysia will bring to the table a great deal of value propositions when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak meets US president Donald J. Trump tomorrow.

Najib who is leading the Malaysian delegation said they would work on enhancing bilateral ties and exploring opportunities for the benefit of both countries.

"We bring to the table a great deal of value propositions.

"We are not here to ask for money from the US.

"We come here as a rising star - a country that is successful and growing and determined to succeed and to be in top 20 in the world by 2050."

Najib said this in his speech at a gathering with Malaysian students and diaspora here on Monday.

He said the many achievements by Malaysia proved beyond doubt that allegations that the country was failed state were merely fabricated.

Najib said both nations, which celebrate 60 years of bilateral ties, would also enhance cooperation in a wide array of areas, including counter terrorism, trade, economy, educations as well as regional and world issues.

At the gathering, Najib also expressed his sadness over the passing of Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah.

He also asked those gathered at the event to recite a ‘Doa’ for Sultan Abdul Halim.

Najib and his wife are in Washington DC for a three-day working visit to the US.
