KUALA LUMPUR: Investigators have found traces of petrol on the second floor of Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah tahfiz school.
Sources told the New Straits Times that the traces were found in front of the door of the dormitory.
"This is believed to be reason why the fire spread fast," a source said, adding that the case has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
The source also confirmed that one arrest had been made so far in relation to the case.
It was reported that a student who fled the school several hours before the incident was taken by police to the scene yesterday to assist in collecting evidence.
