Balance and non-interference, the secret behind China's Communist Party international success

BEIJING: China's friendly approach on relations with political parties from other countries have been helpful in promoting economy and sharing knowledge.

Communist Party of China (CPC) Asian Bureau of the International Department deputy director Zhang Xuyi said China had been maintaining such relations with 600 parties of 160 countries across the world.

"China has 1.3 billion of population which is about half of 3 billion people from neighbouring countries.

"Thus, China plays significant role in maintaining political party-to-party relations to learn others' governance and development, exchange topics include education, economy, tourism, among others," he said when briefing journalists from 14 neighbouring countries in the international department headquarters.

Zhang added the CPC, which is the rulling party of the republic, had a complex task to deal with given its location near hotspots with issues such as separatism in central Asia, border dispute between India and Pakistan, existence of terrorism in Pakistan and Afghanistan as well as land and sea boundaries among others.

"When it comes to sensitive issues, China will not interfere on domestic affairs as the basis of the party to party relations are equality, independence, non-interference and mutual respect," he added.

Zhang said there had been exchanges between delegates and political leaders, both rulling and opposition political leaders, among China and other countries for better understanding.

Since 2013, China has since aggresively proposed relevant countries to jointly build the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

Experts have said that the Belt and Road initiative would expect to give win-win situation for China and other countries in balancing world economy and help to tackle terrorism and unrest at poverty-stricken countries.
