KUALA LUMPUR: The federal government will provide a RM2.2 billion scholarship allocation for the Public Services Department, Higher Education Ministry and Health Ministry.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in tabling the Budget 2018 in Parliament House said an additional RM400m will also be provided for research grant and development to public universities, including a special allocation for Universiti Malaya to gain a spot in the Top 100 Universities in The World list.
This, he said is an increase of allocation compared to RM235m given in previous budget.
The 2018 budget also saw RM90m allocated for the MyBrain Program, which is expected to benefit 10,600 students to further their studies at the Master's and PhD levels.
Najib also said the government will continue providing the RM250 Book Voucher to each and every higher learning and Form 6 students.
