Sultan of Kedah receives award from Sultan of Perak

KUALA LUMPUR: Sultan Sallehuddin Almarhum Sultan Badlishah of Kedah heads the list of recipients of awards and medals to be conferred in conjunction with the Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah’s 61st birthday celebration.

The Kedah sultan will receive the Darjah Kerabat at the investiture which will be held at the Balairung Seri, Istana Iskandariah, Kuala Kangsar, on Sunday.

A total of 331 state awards will be conferred to individuals, this year.

State Secretary Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan, at a media conference at his office on Thursday said the conferment of awards that carried the title Datuk Seri; Datuk Seri Panglima; Datuk and Datuk Pahlawan would be held on Sunday while other awards would be presented on Nov 11.

The Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak (SPMP), carrying the title Datuk Seri, will be bestowed on Public Service Department director-general Tan Sri Zainal Rahim Seman and Pos Malaysia Bhd chairman Brigadier-General (rtd) Tan Sri Dr Mohd Khamil Jamil.

The Darjah Seri Panglima Taming Sari, which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima, will be conferred on Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim and Army chief Tan Sri Zulkiple Kassim.

The Darjah Dato’ Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM), carrying the Datuk title, will be conferred on Perak excos Datuk Rusnah Kassim, Datuk Samsudin Abu Hassan and Urusan Kamalbina Sdn Bhd’s Datuk Kamarulbahrin Zainuddin.

New Straits Times group editor Yushaimi Maulud Yahaya is among 20 people receiving the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP), which carries the title Datuk.

Other recipients are Orang Besar Jajahan Kampar Toh Sedewa Raja Datuk Abdul Talib Abd Fahmi, Perak Islamic Religious Council and Malay Customs chief executive officer Dr Amiruddin Mu-hammed, former Nottingham University vice-chancellor Professor Sir David Greenaway, Universiti Malaya Academic Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Awg Bulgiba Awg Mahmud, Perak State Legislative Assembly Speaker S. Thangesvari, Hulu Kinta assemblyman Datuk Aminuddin Md Hanafiah, Titiwangsa deputy Umno chief Affendi Zahari, Pengkalan Hulu assemblyman Aznel Ibrahim and Kampung Gajah assemblyman Abdullah Fauzi Ahmad Razali.

Others receiving the DPMP are MCA’s Woon Tuck Hoong, Teluk Intan Municipal Council member Choo Weng Kee, Gerik District Council member Salmiah Sutan Taharuddin, Norzaman Man, Manjung district officer/Manjung Municipal Council president Mohamad Fariz Mohamad Hanip, Perak Islamic Religious Council and Malay Customs member Asad Awang, Malaysian ambassador to Lebanon Balachandran Tharman, Perak Education Department chief Mat Lazim Idris, former Perak Fisheries Department director Dr Bah Pian Tan and Universiti Sarawak Malaysia’s Professor Shazali Abu Mansor.

The Darjah Dato’ Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS), which carries the title Datuk Pahlawan, will be conferred on Perak police Special Branch officer SAC Mazlan Santarai, Selangor police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor, Malaysian Armed Forces dental specialist Major-General Dr Borhan Jasmin and Royal Malaysian Navy’s Rear Admiral Mohammed Ariff Mahru.

Former athlete and an athletic coach with the National Sports Council, S.Josephine Mary, national triple jump athlete Muhammad Hakim Ismail and Perak Football Team captain Mohd Nasir Basharudin were among the 654 recipients of the Ahli Mahkota Perak.

The Pingat Pekerti Terpilih was awarded to 92 recipients including Royal Malaysian Navy personnel Mohd Nazri Seman who succeeded in guiding two of his children, Nor Adrina Adlyna,19, and Nor Nabila Natasha,15, to the extent winning several sailing championships at the international level.

Twenty-eight individuals were awarded the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak; 10 received the Darjah Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini; 96 received the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian, while four individuals received the Long Service Medal.
