JOHOR BARU: Tunku Tun Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Ibrahim led a group of 97 recipients of awards and medals that were conferred in conjunction with the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's birthday on Monday.
The princess was bestowed the Sultan Ibrahim Medal First Class (PSI I) by His Majesty during a ceremony held at the Throne Room of Istana Besar here.
Tunku Tun Aminah, 31, is the second of six siblings and the only daughter of Sultan Ibrahim and Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah.
Sultan Ibrahim was accompanied by Raja Zarith Sofiah and Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim at the ceremony.
Also present were Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Sultan Ibrahim; Tunku Tun Aminah's husband Dennis Muhammad Abdullah; Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim; and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Sultan Ibrahim.
Johor Council of the Royal Court president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli and Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin were also in attendance.
Another prominent Johorean was also honoured at the event: Johor Council of the Royal Court member Datuk Daing Malik Daing Rahaman was conferred the First Class of the Most Exalted Order of Sultan Ibrahim Johor Dato' Sri Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (SMIJ).
The award carries the title of "Datuk".
Meanwhile, Raja Zarith Sofiah's private secretary, Aimie Rozaine Ahmad, led a list of 14 recipients of the Third Class of the Most Exalted Order of Sultan Ibrahim Johor (SIJ).
All 10 district officers in Johor also received the SIJ. They were Johor Baru District Officer Md Rofiki A. Shamsudin; Muar District Officer On Jabbar @ Jaafar; Batu Pahat District Officer Mohd Haffiz Ahmad; Segamat District Officer Abdul Rahman Salleh; Tangkak District Officer Mahadon Marnin; Pontian District Officer Mohd Shukri Mohd Masbah; Kulai District Officer Md Za'nal Misran; Kluang District Officer Mohd Noh Ibrahim; Kota Tinggi District Officer Dr Badrul Hisham Kassim; and Mersing District Officer Ashari Kasnan.
Sixty others, including 11 Johor local council presidents, received the Sultan Ibrahim Medal Second Class (PSI II), which is awarded for meritorious service to the state.
Twenty-one individuals received the Sultan Ibrahim Medal Third Class (PSI III).
