Next comes local hit drama, ‘Hero Seorang Cinderella’ while the third spot belongs to ‘SEA Games 2017’. The remainder of the top five are taken by another local drama series ‘Titian Cinta’ and the national school examination analysis system for teachers and parents, ‘SAPS NKRA’.

The top spot for this year’s Trending People searches went to recently-married actress ‘Izara Aishah’ with the second spot going to ‘Gal Gadot’ for her now iconic role as Wonder Woman. Singaporean singer-actress, ‘Hannah Delisha’ who starred in local drama Mencintaimu Mr Photographer' came in third.

In fourth place is ‘Afifah Nasir’ who was in the spotlight over romance-related controversies, followed by singer ‘Aiman Tino’ for his 2017 hit song ‘Ku Hanya Sayang Padamu’.

Rounding off the top 10 trending people of 2017 are: Puskas award-winning footballer ‘Faiz Subri’, Singaporean singer-actor ‘Aliff Aziz’, Asia's Next Top Model finalist ‘Alicia Amin’, actress ‘Fathia Latiff’ and television personality ‘Mat Over’.

“Google search continues to reflect the major events, popular public individuals and hot trends that have collectively made an impact on the lives of Malaysians,” said Zeffri Yusof, Head of Communications and Public Affairs at Google Malaysia.

“Google is where many Malaysians turn to for discovery and information, and we like to think the year-end lists we’ve compiled reflect the national zeitgeist or ‘spirit of the times.”
