LRT3 project will boost economy, job opportunities

SHAH ALAM: The Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) project, which is under construction in the western corridor of Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, will stimulate economic activities along the 37km stretch.

Kota Anggerik federal development coordinator Datuk Nor Hi-sham Ses said among areas that would benefit most were here and Klang.

“There are many who would benefit from this project as it will offer opportunities for entrepre-neurs.

“Once completed, the opening of LRT3 line stations would also open up opportunities for youth in Shah Alam and Klang.”

He said the LRT3 line would ease congestion here and in Klang, besides reducing pollution.

He said as there were many colleges, private universities and other institutions here, students would benefit from the project as they would no longer need to rely on private vehicles to move about.

“This is another federal project that has been planned with the worsening congestion in mind.”

A non-governmental organisation here lauded the project, saying that it would benefit people living along the stretch.

Selangor Movement of NGOs chairman Nazilah Idris said LRT3 would lessen residents’ financial burden as they would no longer need to rely on their own transportation to move about.
