KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, and children, have been sighted in Langkawi on Saturday evening.
According to sources, Najib and his family are staying at the luxurious St Regis hotel for what seems to be a family holiday.
After losing the general elections on May 9, Najib took to Twitter to announce that he will be going for a short break with his family.
He had said: “After over four decades in politics and the recent election campaign, which was regrettably personal and perhaps the most intense in Malaysian history. I will take a short break to spend time with my family whom I have not seen enough of in recent years.”
However, on the same day of his departure, Najib had to abort his plans to go for a supposed holiday abroad following the Immigration Department’s move to bar him from leaving the country.
Not long after that, Najib tweeted that he would adhere to the directive.
Since then, Najib and his wife, have been called in for questioning by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to facilitate questioning into allegations of graft related to 1Malaysia Development Berhad and SRC International.
