KUALA LUMPUR: President and chief executive of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) Arul Kanda Kandasamy has been sacked from his posts, Malaysiakini reported today.
The news portal cited a letter of termination, which asserts that Arul had “breached the contract and fiduciary duty” as head of the state investment firm which is the focus of an international corruption investigation.
According to The Edge, his dismissal comes two days before his contract is due to expire on June 30.
Arul joined 1MDB in 2015.
