SUBANG JAYA: 30 individuals have been arrested so far following the violent episodes at the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman temple in USJ 25, here.
Selangor police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor said nine new arrests were made in an operation within the state this afternoon.
"The individuals arrested before this will be remanded until Saturday while the new arrests will be remanded tomorrow.
"Police will make a few more arrests in the near future with regard to this case," he told a media conference at the Subang Jaya district police headquarters, here, today.
Mazlan added that several individuals will be called in to have their statements recorded, including those from One City Development Sdn Bhd.
"Investigations are still ongoing and police are working to get witnesses," he said.
In several episodes which initially broke out early Monday morning, 23 vehicles were torched, damages to the temple were reported and windows at One City Mall were also broken and damaged.
A fireman attached to the Subang Jaya fire and rescue station Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim was also injured in the riot, and a police officer sustained a broken arm.
