IPOH: The state government will undertake certain projects initiated by the previous Barisan Nasional-led administration in an effort to develop all districts in Perak.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu today also admitted that a number of BN-initiated projects were halted or delayed by the current government.

"As such, discussions with the Federal Government are ongoing and the state government will do its best to proceed with the projects.

"However, those projects must bring a huge impact to the people and the price must be reasonable.

“We are always in contact with the relevant ministries to establish a good relationship, besides ensuring that the allocation channels are according to the plan before,” he said.

Ahmad Faizal (PPBM-Chenderiang) said this in reply to an additional question by Dr Ko Chung Sen (DAP-Kepayang) during the state legislative assembly at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.

He added that a total of RM421.28 million have been allocated for the development of the state this year, and another RM400 million for the state’s budget next year.

In answering a question by Razman Zakaria (PAS-Semanggol), Ahmad Faizal said the infrastructure development allocation was not tied to a respective area but was alotted based on priority and the plan mapped out by the state government.

“Generally, the development of one area is identified through feedback received from the government machinery at the federal, state and district levels through engagement sessions.

"We also welcome information from the district officers as well as the community,” he said.
