Rina Harun: As government, leaders need to have the same voice

SABAK BERNAM: Any issues involving the parties within Pakatan Harapan (PH) should be discussed in the coalition's Presidential Council meetings.

Rural Development minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun said these matters should be discussed internally and not be aired in public as it involved all within PH.

"I believe any decisions involving parties should be discussed in the PH Presidential Council meetings at the highest level.

"As the ruling government, we (leaders) must have the same 'voice', however some are making their own statements," she said when met, here, today.

Rina said this when asked to comment on DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang who said yesterday that DAP would have no hesitation in leaving the coalition government if the objective of a New Malaysia was abandoned.

Meanwhile, when asked to comment on calls being made for National Unity and Social Well-Being minister P Waytha Moorthy to step down in the wake of the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple riots which resulted in the death of a fireman on duty, Rina again reiterated that any decision would need to be discussed at the highest level as the appointment involved Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

"I see the rakyat voicing their opinions and views including signing a petition so he (Waytha Moorthy) would resign.

"However, in this matter, we need to consider the views of all quarters in order to build a good administration," she said.
