SHAH ALAM: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed today between Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) vice-chancellor Emeritus Prof Datuk Dr Hassan Said and the University of Lisbon School of Architecture president, Prof Dr JoãoPardal Monteiro, to establish cooperation in the field of research.
The three-year MoU is aimed at providing students and staff from both institutions with exposure to various fields of expertise via training and development exchange programmes, knowledge sharing and symposiums.
“Aside from this, the MoU hopes to actualise a ‘dual degree’ programme at the master’s level which would mean students will receive a scroll from both universities,” said Hassan, adding that it will improve the marketability of UiTM students here and overseas.
Portugal’s leading university was selected for the strategic cooperation because it has many experts for various scopes of research.
Hassan said UiTM will continue to explore the expertise available from various overseas universities to expand the knowledge and experience of its students and staff. – BERNAMA
