KUALA TERENGGANU: Having turned eight months old yesterday, Muhammad Zayne Daniel James Tyler's father created an Instagram account for him and he has already gained 11,000 followers.
Zayne Daniel is the son of popular British national turned Terengganu resident Mat Dan.
Mat Dan or Daniel Tyler, 29, is from the United Kingdom and gained nationwide fame for his ability to speak Malay in the Terengganu dialect.
What was initially an adventure to several Asian countries, finally saw him settling down in Terengganu. He eventually converted to Islam, changing his name to Muhammad Kareef Daniel Abdullah.
Mat Dan then married Nadifa Adnan in 2017 and the couple welcomed the birth of their son Zayne Daniel on May 5 last year.
The Instagram account was meant to give easy access to their family members to be updated on their son's progress, particularly for Mat Dan's parents who live in England.
Mat Dan said previously they had been sharing photos of Zayne Daniel using their own Instagram accounts.
"However, now that Zayne is eight months old, my wife and I feel it is appropriate for us to create an account for him in order for us to share his progress.
"We do not plan to put our child in the entertainment industry, but if there is a suitable offer, we will consider it.." Mat Dan said.
"For us, the Instagram account is just to share photos and videos of Zayne as he grows.." he added.
"My wife and I were both shocked when the account registered under the username Zaynetyler55 yesterday afternoon has gained 11,000 followers. This reflects the support from fans for our family," he said when contacted, here, today.
He added that since the account was created, they have been receiving many congratulatory messages from their fans.
"My wife and I wish to thank all of our fans for their support, their willingness to be updated on Zayne's progress is very much appreciated.
"Taking photos of Zayne has become a side hobby for us now. With this Instagram account, it will motivate us to record more of what he is up to all the time," Mat Dan remarked.
Touching on his own activities, Mat Dan said he is now working as a radio deejay for Manis FM.
