KOTA KINABALU: The state government has extended its condolences to the family of Major Mohd Zahir Armaya, who was hit by a bullet during a shooting demonstration at the Lok Kawi Army Camp.

In conveying condolences, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal hoped that the bereaved family remain strong in their difficult times.

He then called on all Malaysians to join together in prayer for Mohd Zahir, whose body will be flown to Kuala Lumpur at 9.25pm.

It is learnt that the body will be taken to Perak for burial.

Mohd Zahir, 36, was the son of popular comedian AR Badul. He was an officer from the 11th Special Forces Regiment group of Sungai Udang Army Camp in Malacca.

In the 8.30am demonstration, Mohd Zahir played the villain and was seen firing a shot at a group of soldiers.
