Najib, Rosmah to appear in Netflix crime series 'Dirty Money'

KUALA LUMPUR: Scandal-ridden former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, will be featured in the second season of Netflix’s popular investigative documentary series “Dirty Money”.

Najib and Rosmah, who are facing trial proceedings, appear in the 1-minute 47-second promotional trailer for the documentary, which is set to premier on March 11.

“Dirty Money” explores six untold stories of scandal, financial malfeasance and corruption in the world of business.

A voiceover in the trailer says: “There are certain people in our global community who think they are above all laws.”

It features brief footage of Najib in an interview saying: “It is all political”; and an interviewee, while holding up photographs of jewellery, saying: “How could the wife of a politician afford such luxury?”

Najib, 67, is currently facing seven counts of power abuse, criminal breach of trust and money laundering in relation to RM42 million of SRC International money.

Rosmah, 69, is facing three charges of soliciting RM187.5 million and receiving a bribe of RM6.5 million from Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Saidi Abang Samsudin through her former aide Datuk Rizal Mansor for projects to provide solar energy to 369 rural schools in Sarawak.
