KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded two new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus today, raising the country’s tally of infections to 25.
Both cases are expatriates – a Japanese woman and an Italian man – Health director-general Datuk Noor Hisham Abdullah revealed today.
He said that the Japanese woman, who works in Malaysia, travelled to Japan and Indonesia in February.
The Italian, meanwhile, is married to a Malaysian, and visited Italy for work from Feb 15 to 21.
On Thursday, the Health Ministry announced that a 53-year-old Malaysian woman who recently visited Japan had tested positive for Covid-19, becoming Malaysia’s 23rd case of the virus.
