PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today announced RM250 billion Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package or PRIHATIN that will bring benefit to the people and all quarters affected by the Covid-19 crisis in the country.
Muhyiddin said RM128 billion from the total amount has been set aside to protect the welfare and well-being of the people in the country.
Under PRIHATIN, Muhyiddin said the government allocated RM100 billion to help all businesses including Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) affected by the global pandemic.
“The government has also allocated RM2 billion to strengthen the nation’s economy. Meanwhile, RM20 billion is the amount of the (first) economic stimulus package (that was announced on Feb 27).
“This PRIHATIN package will provide immediate assistance to lessen the burden of all (affected by Covd-19 crisis).
“Irrespective if you are a fisherman in Kukup, Johor, or smallholder in Jeli, Kelantan, or night market trader in Kuala Lumpur, or Pasar Tamu trade in Kundasang… No one will be left behind,” the prime minister said today.
