KUALA LUMPUR: The Prisons Department will continue to suspend visitations, pursuant to the extended Movement Control Order (MCO) implementation.
In a statement today, the department said the suspension, which had begun since March 18, would continue to be in place until further notice.
This is applicable to all the prisons around the country.
“The prohibition also applies to the Malaysia Prison Museum in Bandar Hilir, Melaka.
“We have also suspended programmes or visits from lawyers, police officers, ambassadors and non-governmental organisations.
“This decision is made to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to prisoners. We apologise for any inconvenience, and hope members of the public will comply.”
