Dr Noor Hisham: Food handlers for e-bazaars must get typhoid vaccination

PUTRAJAYA: Food handlers for e-bazaars are subject to requirements and regulations imposed by the Health Ministry in order for them to operate safely during the fasting month of Ramadan.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the requirements include having food handlers vaccinated against typhoid.

“Those involved in handling food must adhere with the regulations imposed by the ministry.

“This includes obtaining (anti-) typhoid (vaccination).

“They must also ensure the cleanliness of their respective premises,” Dr Noor Hisham said in his daily press conference here today.

On a separate matter, he reminded Malaysians that the cleanliness of their respective premises must be maintained, as dengue is still spreading in the community.

“We want to advise all to conduct cleaning works surrounding their houses to ensure that their premises are free from dengue breeding grounds.

“This is because the ministry is determined to continue to reduce the number of dengue cases in the country,” he said.
