Sabah govt services back in operation

KOTA KINABALU: All Sabah government agencies will be operating as usual throughout the Conditional Movement Control Order until June 9.

State Secretary Datuk Safar Untong said operations would be based on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the Health Ministry and Sabah Public Services Department.

He said the decision was taken to ensure state government services would be at an efficient and effective level.

"Therefore all ministries, agencies, state government agencies, statutory bodies and local authorities have to operate as usual," he said in a statement.

Safar said for the new SOPs, attendance of staff in the office should be at 60 per cent at least, while the remainder would be working from home.

"Heads of various agencies would have the authority to decide on duty rotation for staff who are needed to come into the office and those who can work from home.

"The working schedule has to take into consideration the welfare and safety of all the staff," he added.

Public sectors were also encouraged to use online application to minimise the presence of customers at the counters or offices.

Safar added that all heads of agencies were reminded to ensure staff abide by all safety and health SOPs to ensure no spread of Covid-19 at the workplaces."
