JELEBU: Three men from Ampang in Kuala Lumpur who were cycling to Jelebu were compounded RM1,000 each after they were found to be involved in interstate travel without permission.
Jelebu District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Maslan Udin said the trio, between the ages of 30 and 40, were detained at the entrance of Kampung Chennah at 10am on Thursday by Police and Rela personnel.
He said the three individuals failed to furnish reasonable explanation as well as traveling interstate without the permission of any authority.
"All three were fined RM1,000 respectively under Section 25 Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988," he said, adding that the trio could pay their compound at the Jelebu district Health Centre by June 3, failing which legal action would be taken against them.
Maslan reminded members of the public not to undertake interstate travel during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), including bicycling, without the permission of the police.
