PUTRAJAYA: Malaysians undergoing mandatory quarantine at designated centres nationwide may complete the process at home.
This, when the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) kicks-off on Wednesday (June 10).
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said even those with just a few days left at the centres would be allowed to spend their remaining days at home, but on the condition they download and utilise the MySejahtera application.
"They cannot undergo home quarantine just yet, because the new rules for the RMCO under Act 342 (the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988) will only take effect on June 10," he said.
He said as of 8am, today, a total of 150 quarantine centres were operating nationwide compared to 156 yesterday.
Ismail, who is also the Defence Minister said 15,140 people were currently undergoing the mandatory quarantine including 291 Malaysians who had returned to the country on Sunday.
He said a total of 51,090 Malaysians have undergone mandatory quarantine since Apr 3, with 40,922 people having completed the process and allowed to return home.
