KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia registered 101 new Covid-19 cases today, raising its tally of infections to 11,135.
According to Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, 73 of the cases are in Sabah, with 51 linked to the Bangau-Bangau cluster.
He said just four of the cases are imported, while 97 are local transmissions.
Dr Noor Hisham added that four new clusters have been identified: two in Sabah, one in Selangor and one in Johor.
Meanwhile, 17 cases detected in Peninsular Malaysia over the last 24 hours have a history of travel to Sabah. Selangor registered the highest number of cases at nine.
In his daily Covid-19 press conference in Putrajaya, Dr Noor Hisham said that 50 patients were declared cured and discharged from hospitals nationwide today; while no new fatality was reported, keeping the death toll at 134.
He added that 13 patients are in intensive care, with five having been intubated.
