NSTP employee tests positive for Covid-19 after returning from Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd today affirmed that a New Straits Times (M) Bhd (NSTP) employee who returned from editorial duties in Sabah has tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement, the Group said that the staff member has been admitted to a government hospital and that Media Prima is working closely with health authorities to minimise exposure of the virus to other employees.

"The affected person returned from editorial duties in Sabah on Sept 30 and had taken the mandatory Covid-19 test by the Health Ministry.

"The affected person had been under self-quarantine at home since returning before being reported as a positive case.

"The person had not visited any Media Prima premises since returning from Sabah.

"Media Prima will provide necessary support to the affected person. We pray for a speedy recovery," read the statement.

Media Prima added that all of its employees who have returned from covering the state election in Sabah have undergone the mandatory Covid-19 screening and are currently observing compulsory 14-day self-quarantine at home.

"Media Prima would like to state that the safety of all employees is its top priority."
