KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad al-Bakri today affirmed that he has tested positive for Covid-19.
In a media statement today, Zulkifli said he is currently receiving treatment.
"To all Malaysians, I'm currently receiving treatment after testing positive for Covid-19. I apologise for any of my shortcomings.
"Alhamdulillah, my condition is improving.
"I pray to Allah for the recovery of all Malaysians who have contracted Covid-19," he said.
Zulkifli also urged those who were present at events he attended between Sept 24 and Oct 4 to undergo Covid-19 screening at the nearest health clinic.
It is understood that Zulkifli had participated in campaigning in Sabah during the recently-concluded state election.
Upon his return, he attended the launch of the Bakul Rezeki Khaira PPZ project at PPR Pantai Ria on Sept 26; a briefing on the Endowment Bill (Sept 28); the 2020 Nusantara Syariah Judicial and Legal Conference (Sept 28); and a briefing on the Maulidur Rasul national level celebration on Sept 28.
He is believed to have attended a special National Security Council Meeting last week.
He also attended Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia's top management meeting (Oct 2) and an event at UiTM Shah Alam on Oct 3.
