KUALA LUMPUR: Parkson Malaysia today confirmed that a staff at its Estee Lauder counter located within Parkson Elite 1 Utama tested positive for Covid-19.
The staff concerned is a beauty advisor who worked at the departmental store's Cosmetics and Fragrance section on the ground floor.
"We proceeded to close our Parkson Elite 1 Utama store for a thorough cleansing and sanitisation exercise in accordance with the procedures issued by the Ministry of Health," Parkson Malaysia said in a statement today.
It also informed that the staff tested positive for the novel coronavirus yesterday.
Parkson Elite in 1 Utama will remain temporarily closed today to mitigate the risk of infection and will reopen tomorrow with a fresh new team, the statement read.
"Meanwhile, our store staff will undergo Covid-19 testing as well as 14 days of self-quarantine."
Parkson Malaysia added that it was working closely with the 1 Utama shopping mall management team and the Ministry of Health on contact tracing.
Previously, a staff at 1 Utama's Mac City Service Centre was confirmed as having tested positive for Covid-19.
