KUALA LUMPUR: PAS and Parti Bersatu Pribumi Malaysia (Bersatu) said they uphold the call made by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong urging all Members of Parliament not to drag the nation into political instability amid the Covid-19 pandemic that has brought much harm to the people.
PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said any political crisis and polemics that were detrimental to the people should be stopped immediately.
"Get down on the ground (instead) and show that Islam is the guide and savior to all human beings," he posted on his Twitter account.
Yesterday, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, ordered all MPs not to drag the country into any political turmoil amid the Covid-19 pandemic that could further affect the people's well-being.
He said politicians in this country needed to solve their problems between them through consultation and legal processes as enshrined in the Federal Constitution.
Bersatu vice president Datuk Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen said all politicians should obey and abide by the King's advice.
He said any dissatisfaction among political allies and attempts to bring down the Prime Minister and the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government would only create political and economic instability.
"The level of trust among the people towards leaders and political parties is at an all-time low. The people are watching and evaluating our actions, with the coming 15th General Election (GE15), it would be used by the people to reject leaders or parties who put their political interests ahead of the lives and health of the people.
"It is the rakyat's demand that all political turmoil in the country be stopped immediately.
"The people are becoming increasingly disgusted with this prolonged and endless political crisis. All parties regardless of whether the government or the opposition should set aside differences and find common grounds as we get through these tough times, for our country," he said.
