Number of flood victims in Kemaman increase [NSTTV]

KUALA TERENGGANU: The number of flood victims evacuated in Kemaman increased from 956 people to 1,310 victims involving 313 families, housed at seven evacuation centres (PPS) at 4am this morning.

This latest addition makes the total number of victims transferred to 13 PPS in five districts in the state stand at 1,675 victims from 417 families.

In Kemaman, two PPS have been opened at Kampung Batu 16 Mosque and Batu 14 Multipurpose Hall housing 115 and 26 flood victims respectively.

The other five PPS are housed at Kampung Felda Seberang Tayor Multipurpose Hall (122 victims, 36 families), Kampung Air Putih Civic Hall (341 victims, 82 families), Teladas Village Hall (452 ​​victims, 104 families), Kampung Dadong Mosque (seven victims, two-family) and Surau Haji Othman (14 victims, five families).

Meanwhile, in Dungun, a total of 344 victims from 100 families are being housed in three centres, namely SK Kampung Nyior (six victims, one family), Pasir Raja Multipurpose Hall (193 victims, 61 families), Kampung Shukor Multipurpose Hall (138 victims, 36 families).

In other districts, namely Kuala Terengganu, 17 victims from four families were housed at Sekolah Kebangsaan Atas Tol, while Kuala Nerus flood victim numbers decreased to seven victims from one family and are housed at Kampung Surau Mak Jintan.

Marang's flood figures also remained with 14 victims from five families housed at SK Merchang.

Terengganu Disaster Management Committee Secretariat head, Lieutenant Colonel (PA) Che Adam A Rahman said the weather conditions in Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang are deteriorating.
