KUALA LUMPUR: The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang, Kelantan and Sarawak has been extended for another 14 days.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Kedah, Perak, Negri Sembilan, Perlis, Melaka, Pahang, Terengganu, Sabah, Putrajaya would remain under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
He said the CMCO and RMCO in all states except Sarawak would be in place from Apr 1 to Apr 14.
The CMCO in Sarawak starts today and is scheduled to end Apr 12.
"The same standard operating procedures (SOP) are still in effect for CMCO and RMCO areas.
"However, interstate travel is still not allowed apart from tourism activities from RMCO states to CMCO states under the 'green travel bubble' concept through companies or agents registered with the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry.
"On the other hand, inter-district travel is allowed nationwide except in Sabah and Sarawak, based on their state governments' decision," he said at a press conference today.
Meanwhile, he said the Covid-19 situation in most of the states have in general shown a decline.
"But there are states that are experiencing an uptrend, hence, the extension of the CMCO and RMCO.
"For example, in Selangor, although cases are generally declining, many areas remain classified as red zones. In Kuala Lumpur, cases are reducing but more areas are under orange zones now.
"The trend pattern in Penang remains unstable, many localities are still red and cases are on an upswing there. The same applies to Kelantan and Sarawak where cases are on the rise with many red zones," he said.
