KUALA LUMPUR: Six districts in Selangor will be placed under Movement Control Order (MCO) from Thursday to May 17.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the six districts are Hulu Langat, Petaling, Gombak, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang.
Three other districts – Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor – will remain under Conditional MCO.
"This decision was made taking into consideration the increasing number of Covid-19 cases since April 20, and to curb the spread of the virus.
"With that, interstate and inter-district travel is prohibited, except for emergency cases and for work purposes," he said in a press conference today.
In these six districts, premises selling food, such as restaurants, food trucks, hawker stalls and kiosks in these areas are allowed to operate between 6am and midnight, but dine-ins will not be allowed.
All supermarkets, convenience stores and pharmacies would be allowed to operate from 6am to 10pm.
Daily, farmers, weekend and public markets would only be allowed to operate between 6am and 2pm.
Ismail Sabri added that Ramadan and Aidilfitri bazaars in MCO are allowed to continue to operate, subject to strict standard operating procedures.
