KUALA LUMPUR: Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has confirmed that 586,700 doses of vaccine will be sent to Malaysia early next month.
AstraZeneca Malaysia president Dr Sanjeev Panchal said subsequent additional doses of the vaccine would follow in the coming months.
"The latest delivery schedule for Malaysia has proven the cooperation between the government, industry and the relevant parties in the support of the country's health and economic recovery efforts.
"We will continue to forge close cooperation with the government and the relevant parties in the face of rising number of positive cases, subsequently taking Malaysia back to the path of normalcy as soon as possible," he said in a statement today.
Dr Sanjeev said 828,000 doses of AstraZeneca had been sent to Malaysia so far.
"More than 600 million doses of AstraZeneca have been distributed to 168 countries worldwide," he said.
