KUALA LUMPUR: The number of active Covid-19 cases continues to climb with more new cases recorded against the number of recoveries as of noon today.
According to the statistics from Health Ministry's official Twitter account, the number of active cases now stands at 66,958. There are 5,677 recoveries.
Today, 6,658 new Covid-19 cases were recorded with Selangor alone recording almost half the number of cases at 3,047.
The other two states with a high number of cases are Negri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur at 699 and 616 cases, respectively.
Johor recorded 414 cases, followed by Sarawak (361), Melaka (345), Sabah (322), Pahang (200), Kedah (145), Penang (142), Labuan (108), and Perak (101).
Kelantan recorded 89 cases, while Terengganu had 51 and Putrajaya had 16.
Only Perlis recorded single digit with two new Covid-19 cases.
The total number of patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) stands at 892, while 443 are intubated.
A total of 107 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, and this brings the cumulative number of deaths to 5,434.
