MAFI presents fruits and vegetables to 80 Kelantan frontliners

KOTA BARU: The Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAFI) via the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) today handed over aid to 80 state frontliners.

The aid comprising fruits and fresh vegetables were handed over to the frontliners by Deputy Minister II Datuk Che Abdullah Mat Nawi.

The event which was under `MAFI Prihatin' programme, was held at Covid-19 vaccination centre in Tunjong.

Che Abdullah said the MAFI's Prihatin programme aimed to reduce the burden suffered by people who have been affected by Covid-19 pandemic.

"The programme has benefited 21,802 people so far, mostly frontliners, since its inception on May 27 until July 5.

"It was held at 82 locations throughout the country with some 37.51 metric tonnes of food has been distributed," he told reporters after presenting the aid to state medical officer Dr Nik Insusunarti Shafei.

Also present were state Fama's director Wan Nora Wan Ahmad and Fama marketing advisor Mohd Ariffin Awang.

Che Abdullah said 716 people had received the aid in Kelantan held at eight locations statewide and 716 people were given fruits and various types of vegetables weighing about 2.9 metric tonnes.
