KUALA LUMPUR: The Travelodge City Centre hotel located in Jalan Hang Kasturi has been converted into a Covid-19 Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC).
Catering for Category One and Two Covid-19 patients in the B40 group, this PKRC is fully sponsored by the Crisis Relief Services and Training Bhd (Crest Malaysia).
The centre, which has been allowed to operate beginning Aug 7, will accommodate Covid-19 patients for 10 days, or based on the Health Ministry's instructions, for free.
According to a Crest Malaysia Facebook post, when patients come for registration, they are only required to bring their Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test results, Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) referral letter, identification card as well as a RM100 deposit (which will be refunded).
"Special food requests for religious and health reasons can be arranged in advance based on availability and no food delivery services by GrabFood, FoodPanda or those sent by family members will be allowed at the centre.
"There will be a medical team on standby, with patients under 24-hour monitoring and surveillance. No visitors are allowed for any reason.
"No item delivery is allowed once the patients checked in, except for medical reasons. No in-and-out movement is allowed from the patients' room, except for authorised personnel throughout their stay," it said.
Crest Malaysia also advised patients who wish to stay there for their quarantine period to bring enough clothes for 10 days, including toiletries, laundry detergent and bath as well as face towels.
"They are required to bring their medicine or medical device, including face masks and hand sanitisers. They should also bring along handphone and charger as well as snacks and biscuits."
It, however, reminded patients that they could not bring with them cigarettes, e-cigarettes, lighters and lighting fluid as well as alcohol into the premises.
"Other items such as cooking appliances, extension plugs, valuable personal items, guns or weapons, poison, sharp items or pets are not allowed. Patients' bags will be searched upon registration and the management will seize these items if found.'
