KUALA LUMPUR: The National Security Council (NSC) has removed the 10 kilometre travel limit previously attached to the movement of individuals in states under Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
While cross district and cross state travels are still not allowed in Phase 1 states, except for certain exceptions for fully vaccinated individuals, the 10 kilometre limit is no longer part of the standard operating procedures (SOP).
In an updated SOP released by the NSC last night for Phase 1 states, for those who have yet to complete their vaccination, two persons representing a household may travel to obtain food supply, medicine, diet supplements and basic necessities, with the 10km travel cap removed.
A maximum of three persons including patients are also allowed to go out for health care services, medicine, screening tests, vaccination, safety or emergency, also with the 10km travel cap removed.
Meanwhile the 10km travel cap is also removed for those who have completed their vaccination, with a slight relaxation on the number of persons, in which it would depend on the capacity of the vehicles they were travelling in.
The criteria for fully vaccinated individuals are: having completed 14 days after receiving the second dose of the vaccines (for Pfizer, AstraZeneca, dan Sinovac) and 28 days for single-dose vaccines (Johnson & Johnson dan CanSino).
The new SOP came into force yesterday.
Checks on the previous SOP dated Aug 16 saw that the 10km travel limit was still enforced.
As previously announced, cross district and cross state travels are allowed for certain fully vaccinated individuals in Phase 1 states; long distance spouses and children, and individuals whose movements have been approved by the Health Ministry and the police.
Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor and Kedah are still in Phase 1 of the NRP.
