KUALA LUMPUR: More than 500,000 cases of Covid-19 digital vaccination certificate's failure to appear in the MySejahtera app have been resolved within a week.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin pledged that the app team would continue to improve and update information of the vaccination recipients from time to time.
Based on its investigation, Khairy said the ministry had identified several causes that contributed to the issues relating to the digital vaccination certificate.
He said 71,408 complaints received stemmed from several vaccination centres that did not complete the required documentation process after recipients completed their shots.
"For this issue, the MySejahtera team is coordinating with the vaccination centres involved to ensure that the digital vaccination certificate will be displayed on the app of the affected users.
"I would like to also remind vaccination centre staff members to ensure that every vaccine recipient received their digital vaccination certificate in the app before they leave the premises," he said in a statement today.
He added that the ministry also received 95,347 complaints lodged by MySejahtera app users involving issues with their digital vaccination certificate that were contributed by other causes.
"Among the causes include the listing of vaccine recipients as dependents to another app user. This has caused the status of their individual vaccination certificate binded to the other users of the app (who had listed them dependents).
"For this problem, the account owner of the app (who listed the affected vaccine recipient as their dependent) must delete the name of the affected vaccine recipient as their dependent to enable the affected recipients to register in their own MySejahtera account."
Other causes of problems include failure by users to verify their MyKad number in the application as well as those with more than one MySejahtera account.
Khairy said there were also complaints among recipients who received their jabs at vaccination centres that were not operated by the ministry and Protect Health Corporation (Protect Health).
This problem, he said, occurred since the centres did not use the MySejahtera system.
"This situation resulted digital vaccination certificate did not display in the MySejahtera app immediately after the vaccination process concluded.
"The digital certicate will only be displayed once the vaccination centres, that are not operated by the ministry and Protect Health, submit the information to MySejahtera," he said.
Khairy also said those experiencing issues over their digital certificates could use the physical vaccination cards to enjoy the privileges accorded to those who had been fully vaccinated.
