KUALA LUMPUR: The government will announce the date for Malaysia's border reopening next week.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the Cabinet had given the nod to reopen the nation's borders in a meeting held this week.
"The Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob) will announce the date next week.
"The announcement is crucial to allow some time for relevant businesses under the travel and tourism industry to prepare for the reopening," he told reporters after launching the 16th National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia's Annual Dialysis Conference 2022 in Petaling Jaya today.
This, he said includes the airlines, immigration department, hotels and all others involved in the tourism and travel industry.
